Description

Pancit Canton is a classic Filipino noodle dish inspired by Chinese Cantonese-style stir-fried noodles, but with a uniquely Filipino twist. Made with thick egg noodles stir-fried with a mix of vegetables, meats, and savory seasonings, it’s a comforting and flavorful dish that’s perfect for any occasion.

This dish is a staple at family gatherings and celebrations, embodying the cultural fusion that defines Filipino cuisine. Its rich flavors and hearty ingredients make it a crowd-pleaser and a go-to for special occasions or simple meals alike.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound pancit Canton noodles (egg noodles)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Maricel's Tips
  • For a richer flavor, try using a mix of pork, chicken, and shrimp. The combination of meats adds depth to the dish, making it even more satisfying.
  • Don’t overcook the vegetables—they should still have a bit of crunch to provide a nice contrast to the soft noodles. This balance of textures is what makes pancit Canton so enjoyable!
  • Pancit Canton can easily be made as a vegetarian dish, and I often cook it this way. Simply skip the meat and add extra vegetables or tofu for a delicious, plant-based version that’s just as flavorful and satisfying.
