Chef Maricel Featured on Culinary Confidential with Christina Cates

I recently had the honor of joining host Christina Cates on Culinary Confidential, which aired Sunday, October 5th, at 9 PM on AM970 radio.

The episode continued Christina’s mission to highlight women who shape culture and community through food, creativity, and purpose. I was proud to share the hour with Judia Black, founder of enJoie—a company that celebrates wine culture and shared experiences through events, media, and storytelling.

During the show, Christina and I talked about my journey from my Lola’s kitchen in Manila to founding Maricel’s Kitchen in East Brunswick, New Jersey. We discussed what it means to represent Filipino and Asian cuisine in America today, and how food connects people across generations and cultures.

At Maricel’s Kitchen, that same spirit guides everything we do—Chef’s Table dinners, cooking classes, and catering experiences that tell stories of heritage and heart. As a Chef Ambassador for K-Seafood, I continue to share Korean seafood and Asian culinary traditions with audiences around the world.

It was a meaningful conversation filled with warmth, flavor, and inspiration. If you missed the live broadcast, you can listen below or follow the link to the podcast.

Tune in each week with Christina Cates for more stories that celebrate food, culture, and the people who bring them to life.

Thank you, Christina, for having me and for celebrating women in food and the stories behind every dish.
